And that’s a yes! ANTILLEAN will be back at the Outsider Art Fair in January 2019 at the Puck Building in New York City with wonderful folk art from the island of Jamaica — including some significant new finds this time around.
Last Fair we had a blast showcasing the work of three Jamaican artists — EDDIE HARRIS and his amazing shanties; KEMEL RANKINE with his wonderful signs; and SANE MAE DUNKLEY who made rich and full tapestries, and who, unfortunately, we lost last year. We generated a lot of attention before, during and after the Outsider Art Fair, for which we remain thankful.
This year, in addition to those three artists, we are adding significant fiber finds influenced by the long-standing one-hundred-year-old tradition of embroidery and applique making on the island of Jamaica; dazzling crochet mandalas; and truly lovely flower pots made from re-used and up-cycled tin cans.
Once a month beginning in September and leading up to the Fair in January we will be sharing with you articles, interviews, videos and profiles on our featured artists.
until next time,
